Mike was a rooster that survived for 18 months even after being beheaded. His full name was Mike The Headless chicken, mike was also called miracle mike by his fans.
In 1945, a small family of Lloyd Olsen lived in the city of fruita, USA. The family was preparing to cook chicken. Lloyd was too late to make chicken and wanted to finish his work quickly. He bought a five and a half month old chicken. They made preparations to cut that chicken and took hold of its head and put it on the board.
As soon as he cut the head of the rooster, the axe stakes went wrong.
The rooster’s head was cut in half only, it’s eyes and beak were cut, but the brain was left. The rooster ran very fast from Lloyd’s grip.
Lloyd caught the rooster and closed it in a box and remained seated near the box for a long time.Lloyd was understood that this rooster was not going to die. He caught the rooster and named him “Mike the headless chicken “.
They started caring for Mike to keep him alive. He put a dropper in his throat so that he could breathe and eat food. One day Lloyd took Mike out with him , people were surprised to see a headless chicken.
That’s how Mike got into the headlines and many journalists started coming to Lloyd’s house.
A common farmer become famous all over America in some time.
Lloyd started doing shows with Mike at different places. A large crowd used to come to see “The headless Mike” .
Mike became very famous throughout America. During this, Lloyd also used to take care of Mike very well. From time to time, Lloyd used to give Juice and food though dropper to Mike.
Lloyd made a lot of profit from Mike. According to the sources, Lloyd earned 36 lakhs every month for 2 consecutive years and Mike was bought for 60 lakhs after his death.
One day suddenly, during a stage show , food particles got stuck in Mike’s pipe. The pipe in the throat was very sensitive and it had to be carefully cleaned.
Just one particle of dust was enough to kill Mike. He died due to suffocation and then they handed him over to scientists to do research on him.
